SIN Number as SSN

Hi ,

I'm a Canadian , I want to study a short course in United States , maximum of one year , but the school ask SS no. from me , which I dont have , but I have a SIN card from Canada , can I use this , or how can I apply for a SS no. at United States?

Please let me know what should I do , Thank you

You can't use SIN from Canada as SSN in US.
