Change the parents details ( names mis spelt ) in passport at Indian Embassy in USA

Hi Friends,

The issue is with my mom and dad names in my passport. I want to change the spelling of names along with surnames.

1. Is it possible to change my passport at Indian Embassy in USA.
2. Is it okay to have different surnames for the parents ( actually my mothers surname contains one extra alphabet, its the mistake with the passport office :-( ).

Names can be noted as a correction/observation on the passport. Fill out the necessary forms and submit to the consulate that serves your area. They might ask for supporting documentation for changing the names.

Do you really want to get it done is the question you have to ask yourself. If I were you, and the mispellings were minor and do not matter much, I wouldn't bother.
