How to start the process for Canada from India?

Hi friends,

I'd like to apply for Canada Immigration from India. Is there possibility to apply on my own or do I need to approach any consultancy firm ( like WWICS, in India)? How long it will take if I apply from India? Where I can get the proper information to apply on my own? I heard about www.cic.gc.ca but before I need your inputs. Pl help me.Thank you in advance.

You can do it on your own. The website from Canada government has the processing times listed for different countries. For India, it is 60-72 months waiting time. The forms and instructions are clear on the website and it is just a matter of filling them.
