Buying a house in US before getting a GC

Hi,

I am an L-1 Visa holder and my Labor Certification (filed under RIR) is in progress. My company's lawyers say that the expected timeline for the Labor Certification to be cleared and EAD issued is August 2005 and my L1 petition is valid until March 2006 (cannot be extended). My concern is::

Is it advisable to buy a house with an L1-B visa before getting a Green Card?

You can legally buy it, but that would be your personal decision. If you loose your L1 status, you may have to sell it immediately and go.
