Hi, I'm looking to move to the US from the UK soon, and I'm wondering if anyone can help with some advice. I'm due to file for bankrupcy soon, due to a failed buisness 2 years ago. After much trying, I couldnt keep it going, and had to close shop. Now, the mass of debt that accrued is too much, and bankrupcy has been the reccomendation to me. I was wondering if anybody knows if this will effect my application to move over to the US, and more importantly work. I'm looking to be there permanently. My fiance is a US citizen, but I don't want to get married to gain citizenship, I want to do everything properly, and move there independantly to start with. Any advice, or examples of people that have been in this situation, would be hugely appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to read this, Tony

Honestly, I'm not sure. I don't know if independantly was the right choice of words for me to use. I'm trying to discover the best way at the moment. The best I could see at the moment would be as a worker. I Looked at the current most in demand job vacancies over there, and lucky (I hope) for me, drivers seem to be in short supply. I've a couple of years experience, with a good record, and I'm hoping that will be helpful.
Is there any way you would advise in particular to try?
Thanks for the reply

ok, thats good to know, thankyou. I'll have to look into my other areas of experience. I know its hard at the moment, with unemployment levels being at a high. I think I will mail the officials direct to see if they can recommend someone to help me. I'll keep an eye on here as well to see if I can find anything else. Thanks for you help.
