Hi,
I request for some advise about the green card formalities for my parents who are here in the US. I got their NABC and Marriage Certificates from the Indian Consulate in SFO for which we received an RFE asking us to provide the Non Availability of Birth Certificates and also Marriage Certificates from an authority in India.
Since both my parents are here in the USA, I tried to contact the registrar of birth and deaths at the municipality of their place of birth. The authorities refused to give an NABC without a valid address, which has to be verified. It has been more than 50-55 years since their moving out of his place of birth for my dad and for my mom they moved within a year or so of her birth so no valid address exists for either of them.
For their marriage certificate, I believe that both my parents must be present in order to get a certificate which states that their marriage has
not been registered.
Hence I seek your advise on what other documents could meet the requirements for NABC and Marriage Certificates.
