Hello,
I found your site by searching immigration subject online.
Briefly, I am an US citizen and currently live in Indiana. My wife came to US in Sept on K-1 visa. We got married and filed I-485 (Receipt Date, 10/30/09). We also separately filed I-131 for travel document or Advance Parole 2 weeks ago. Last week, we received finger print notice I-797C scheduled for Nov 30 at local immigration office in Indianapolis, IN.
I filed all papers myself and everything seemed to have gone very well so far. However, my wife's mother suddenly had an acute ischemic stroke 3 days ago (Nov 19) and was sent to hospital in critical condition. To put the long story short, my wife had to leave US and return to her home country immediately.
Now my wife is back in her home country with a finger print notice outstanding but without an approved Advance Parole to come back (although we filed application). Her mother is stabilizing and is still in intensive care unit.
What do we do now in regards to her immigration application? Have you had experience dealing with similar cases and what would you advise us to do? Can we request for speical visa so that she can come back to continue with the process?
Thank you in advance for your time and advice.
