Hello all,
I would like to start another thread on 245(i) provision and invite people to participate especially people who have used this law to file their applications before April 30th 2001. There is no credible data available on the number of applications filed during the 4 month period prior to April 30 2001 which must be paid attention to due to the fact that EB and FB categories both seem to have been affected by the number of 245(i) applications which may take a while to unclog the system from the mountain of applications filed under this provision. USCIS and other institutions involved with legal immigration process claim, from what I have read on the net, that it is not possible to produce any accurate data on the number of applications filed under 245(i) provision which seems to be odd, since there are many differences between these applications and normal applications filed to receive US permanent residency status, to raise a flag on any data base used by immigration services.
At any rate, we should all be interested to get an idea as to number of applications filed under this law since EB and FB categories both have to deal with the present retrogression of PDs caused by thousands of applications filed on or before April 30 2001 dead line.
People may question the accuracy and validity of whatever data gathered here for number of reasons to represent random data collection but ought to give us a start to better understand the PD movement for future VB announcements to come. We appreciate and need participation of people who have used 245(i) provision at this time to help us get out of the dark and provide us the possibility to learn of the timing of our cases getting processed for immigrant visas.
