US passport in a day

Hi

I plan to travel to India next week. Realized few days back that my son's passport is up for renewal next month. In order to get a renewed passport immediately, I got an appointment with SF passport agency for renewal of my son's US passport. Do you guys have such a experience? I want to know if they will issue the passport same day?
