Child born in US to Canadian Parents, does this help green card elligibility?

My husband and I are working in the US on TN-1 visas. Our son was born here 2 years ago and is a US Citizen (he is 2). Although both of us are working, neither of our companies are willing to sponsor us for green card (cost, hassle, etc.). We have a house in the US, pay US taxes only, etc. Does having a child help the green card process? I see that it may if he was 21 ... ?

Any help would be appreciated?
