Do I need to register marriage somehow?

Hello All,

I am wondering if I have to register or let US gov or any other office know about my abroad marriage.

Some background:

I am dual citizen US/Poland.
My wife is Poland citizen only.
We both live in Poland currently and NOT planning to move to US, we might do that at some point but not in foreseeable future.

We got married in August of last year in Indonesia and are still in process of legalizing our marriage in Poland.
I am wondering if I need to do something similar in US to update my status to married or should I just do it when we apply for Marriage Visa/Green Card?

Nothing really to update. You may get a certified marriage certificate so it's acceptable in the US. Other than that, no need to go out of your way to declare anything until you're ready to file for your spouses US visa.
