    Some Backstory.

In April 2011 my wife and I filed forms I-130 along with I-485 and all the forms included. The petition was filed by my wife who is a U.S. Citizen by birth.

In May 2011, they asked for additional evidence such as our joint sponsors (her parents) W2 and proof of citizenship and my medical examination records.

Fast forward to now, earlier today I was pulled over for "improper display of front plate" and "loud muffler" which then lead to my arrest for driving without a valid driver's license.

My question is, will this affect my application for I-485? Is there a possibility of deportation even though I have the forms completed and filed?

USCIS received the additional evidence May 31st, my court date is on July 17th. What are the chances that I get my employment authorization before my court date?

Any help would be appreciated. This was my first ever offense.

Normally this won't affect at all your case! This should be considered as a minor thing! It happens to people. Make sure that you take your court paper and police report to your interview! Good luck to you, and share your future experience with the case, please!!
