Can non residents invest in a home?

[COLOR=Magenta]Hello I a a USa citizen married to a non residen, he is here in the USA on a work permit, we are currently awaiting his status that has been denied before and we re applied in Fl. Till this day has been 2 years and no word on his status. To me he is a non resident and I would like to invest in a home. I have been told that he can't purchase a home, that I have to do it my self without putting his name in it. Now for him to be able to deny any ownership of the home he has to sign a realese saying he has nothing to do with the property. Is this all true? any help will be appreciated.

As far as I know, anyone can purchase property in US, even
people who only visit US on a visitor or a business visa.
