i need to correct my name in my SS card?

Hello;
I have a problem and i want urgent help please.
I'm a student i have valid F1 visa-multiple entry,I-20 and I-94.
I went to issue a driving license, they refused because the name doesn't verify.
My last name on my vise is different that that in the social security card.
I went to social security office to correct my last name to be the same as my vise,they refused,they told me that my last name in SS card must be the same as I-94 not visa and not passport!!!!!
and i have to correct my last name in the I-94.
is this correct? is there any other way to solve this issue? because changing I-94 is very costly.
Can i correct my name in the SS card without changing I-94?

I am not sure whether it can be done. But, ideally what you need to do here is, get your I94 corrected. You should always check I94 when it is issued, and any mistake need to be corrected immediately so that you won't face any issues like this in future.

Firstly, decide what is your correct name, the one on passport, visa or I-94. I-94 is normally filled by self on arrival. Not sure how that could be different from others. In any case, correcting I-94 may be the only option, and that will require justification since it is supposed to be filled by yourself. Other option will be to leave the country and come back to get a new I-94 with desired spelling and then approach SSA to correct the spelling on SS Card. Even in that case if the names are different across these documents, it may cause issues.
