My wife is a GC holder but is now in India and has not returned to US since few years (basically GC gone for Immigration purpose). Now, if she receives some consulting income from U.S. client and I file tax returns as married filing separately, does she too need to file tax returns in U.S. or pay any taxes on income she receives from US?

Only U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents are required to report worldwide income on U.S. tax returns. There may be other requirements in India for reporting such income.
