Hi,
My husband is on H1b and he wants to file IT return for which he needs me to apply for ITIN. And i have read in many links that i can go in person to IRS Taxpayer Assistance Centre and apply for ITIN. My question is whether i should carry my husbands's IT return for which i need ITIN along with my documents for eg. passport or i should just carry W-7 and passport for authentication? And is it possible to file IT return then and there at IRS TAC with the application for ITIN?
