Social Security getting bank accounts information from India for SSI

Does the social security department get the Indian Bank information from some agency in India? My mother applied for SSI and she got but we were called back from social security department. Apparently they found some bank accounts in India in my mothers name and in my fathers name which had balance bigger than the expected balance for SSI. Is there such an agency which is helping Social Security department in getting bank information from India? Social Security department was not able to get such information in the past or someone explicitly complained to Social Security department?
