Need one important information

Hi,

I need one information related to my Tax filing for 2005. I got married in Nov 2005 but my wife came to US in Jan 2006. Can i file my tax return as a married man for the entire 2005?

Is spouse's entry date to US the deciding factor for filing the Tax returns
or the date of marriage.

Any comments on this will be highly appreciated.
