Filing Federal Tax Return After leaving United States.

Hi,

I was working on H1B in US for a year, had to return back to India due to an emergency.
My H1B status is still active, but I'm unable to return any time soon.
I have paid my taxes during my tenure.
Am I eligible to file a federal tax return from outside US for the tax paid while I worked there ?

If anyone has heard of a similar case. Please throw some light on this issue.

Not only can you file, but you must file a tax return if your had non-negligible income.
