Hi,
I needed some help to understand if I would need to file US income tax as well as state tax for year 2008.
I arrived in US on DEC 15 2008 along with my wife and kid on immigrant visa (All of us had got our immigrant visas and we were entering US for the first time using this visa).
I havent earned any income in the US during this period. I was still working for a company in India, during the period I was in the US and had applied for leave during that period to complete the entry formalities.
Would I need to file the IT returns for the year 2008 ?
Would appreciate any kind of advice on the same.
