Social Security Number Delay!!!

Dear All,

Not sure how may of you experienced this. It’s been 10 weeks now I have applied for SSN. Now I have realized that I made a mistake going to SSN office within a week to apply for it.

Without SSN, life in US getting difficult day-by-day. Went social security office couple of times to check the status, answer is same “it’s pending for verification with Homeland Security”. If I ask them, if I can do something about what they are waiting for. They say, neither you nor we can do anything about it, other than waiting for it.

I would request if anyone has any advice to get my SSN process speed-up. Something like getting know and provide relevant information for any department which looking for from my side.

I{m in the same position, I arrived to the US by the end of october and still no SSN. Any Help would be highly appreciated.

I am in the same position, applied for SSN 5 weeks back. Still status is verfication pending from USCIS.

What is your h1b case status showing in USCIS website?
