Change of Status: Brazilian B2 to Italian E2 without leaving the US

Hello!

I am trying to find this information for a very long time.

I am currently in the USA with my I-94 valid and my B2 visa (tourist visa) in my Brazilian Passport. Although, I want to buy a business, using my Italian Passport and pursue the E2 visa (treaty investor visa).

I would like to stay in the USA and change status.

Does anyone knows if it is possible to change status using different passports and nationality?

Hi!

Today I have spoke with an Immigration Officer on the phone.

Unfortunatellly USCIS does not recognize dual citizenship to change status while in the USA.

Therefore, it is not possible to change any kind of status between two different passports and nationalities.

I hope this information will help more people.
