Hello,
I am interest in applying to this visa, I am from a Treaty country and I will like to run a business inside USA that will trade goods with my home country ( Import and Export company), will my family and I be able to live legally in US with this type of visa?
I have experience in supermarkets and sales, so basically I can say I have experience in any of the goods I can trade with my country, I have approx. 8 years of experience in both fields.
But after reading multiple articles and website I have a doubt, what will be considered substantial in the next 2 statements?
1) There will be a substantial number of trade transactions between the US and the treaty country.
2) There will be a substantial dollar value to the trade between the US and the treaty country.
How can I know if my E-1 will be approved or denied based on that it will be not substantial? I actually hold a 10 year B1/B2 visa, that will be expired by April,2017. Should I apply now to the E-1? or should I wait to my B1/B2 visa to expire before making a new visa process? How much money should I expect to be needed in order to apply?
Can this E-1 then be convert to a Permanent Residence Visa?
Thank you in advance
