I'd like to get a job within the industry of my E1 Visa application, but not related to my parent company.

With a E1 you can work JUST for the employer who sponsorred you.
If you want to change employer, you should get a new sponsorship from the new employer.

Hi,
Here are some work restrictions on E1 Visa:-
1. You can only work for the specific employer or self-owned business which acted as your sponsor for the E1 visa.
2. The visa is approved for only 2 years at a time which makes the application process uncomfortable.
3. This visa is available to only foreign nationals of treaty trade nations.
