    Hi there,

My family owns a conveyor belt and tire vulcanizer maker which exports worldwide. Now we would like to have a branch in the U.S and apply for a E2 investor visa for myself so I can work from the U.S branch.
I know the minimum investment to apply for this visa is $50,000. I was wondering if anyone can tell me about what I need to do and where the investment has to be made, in an office? I am really lost... Please help...

    Thanks

    E2 investment

There is no official minimum for investment on the E2 visa, but very few visas are issued for an investment of less than $200.000. Anyway, this is definitely not the visa for you, since you already have a business you should apply for an L1. Strangely, the L1 leads to green card and the E2 does not. If you still want info on the E2, go to E2Visareform.org

Please read some of the comments by current E2 investors to find out why the E2 is the worst possible visa - it has to be constantly renewed (very expensive) your children 'age-out' at 21 and have to get their own visa (very difficult), you can never retire, sell or become a citizen. Go this route only as the last resort.
