  • EAD validity and fee

    Hi,
My wife is currently planning on applying her EAD. My question is, will the EAD be valid on a re-entry to the US? If not what will be the fees for a re-application.

    Thanks.

Yes, as long as she maintains legal L2 status, she can use the EAD.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Thanks! Are you sure about this? I have seen EAD cards which say "Not valid on reentry".

      Thanks.

That just means the card itself is not useable for reentry (unlike a green card). You need a Visa for that.

The difference is 'not valid for reentry' and 'not valid on reentry'.

Thanks kabkaba! I had one more query related to this and need some advise on that.

I plan to apply for my wife's EAD anytime now and there is a chance we might go to India for a quick visit sometime in December. In case the EAD application is processed while we are away (meaning the I-94 in the records is no longer valid), will that be a problem?

Cannot say, it may or may not be.
