EAD renewed based on Visa expiration date and not i-94

I have a L2 visa valid till Feb 2013 and an i-94 valid till June 2013.
[ The dates are the same for my husband's L1 and i-94 ]
My EAD was due to expire in Dec 2012. I did apply for a renewal and it has been renewed only till Feb 2013 and not June.
As far as I understand, EADs are granted based on i-94 dates. Could it be an error on their part and could I get it corrected.
If not Can I reapply for renewal?
My husband’s employers will be filing for the extensions of our L1/L2 visa’s in Feb 2013.
In the mean time I want to maintain continuity of employment with my current employers.
Do I have any alternative to keep working until June 2013?

For L2 to work, EAD is must. There is no alternative.
If your employer can process H1 it is good, but that you will get only on or after Oct 2013.
I think you need to renew the EAD again.
