  • L2 visa as a dependent husband

    Hi,
My wife have an L1 visa and I am planning to apply for L2 visa as her dependent. I have a good job here in India and plan to leave it and then apply for EAD / SSN and find a job there in US.
I also have B1 visa valid for 10 years and have travelled to US twice in past 2 years.

    My Questions are:

    1) Is it difficult to get L2 Visa as dependent husband (as compared to dependent wife) and what are the questions I can expect during the interview.
Will they be interested in knowing why I am leaving a good job here and will i work there. if yes then what are the ideal answers.

    2) How long it takes for the EAD to come. Does it get rejected also?

    3) Can I apply for EAD from India itself once I get L2 visa?

    4) If it takes long for the issue of EAD then can I apply it in US and come back for 2-3 months and continue my job here in India and then go back once it's issued.

Thanks a lot for your Help.

    Regards.

    1. No its not. Its not gender dependent. The general questions they would ask a dependent wife same would be asked to the dependent husband. Marriage certificate, what will you do when you met your spouse etc. There are many expereience in the experience section please go through them.
    2. Can take a 2-3 Months.
    3. You have to be present in US to apply for EAD.
    4. Yes you can do that. You dont have to be present in US while awaiting for your EAD.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

      Hi
Some times they will ask you to come for biometrics. Usually it will 3 or 4 weeks after you apply for EAD.
