COS from H4 to L1??

Hi,

I am presently in the US on an H4 visa. I am on sabbatical leave from my india employer since past 1 month. If my India employer files an L1 visa for me, can I be able to convert the status from H4 to L1 without visiting India?? Or would it be a better option to visit India and re-enter US with L1 stamping??

Yes it is possible to do so while in US, if approved you can continue to work on L1 and you can get the L1 stamping done when you visit India the next time.

I dont think it matters whether you do so while in US or outside. You save a trip to India if you process here and even if it gets rejected you continue to be in H4.
