L1 to H1B Start wrok Date

Hello,
I am on L1 B with company ABC and its getting expired on first week of Feb'13. My current company is fling extn for me. I am in contact with some consultancy, they are offering a new permanet job to me and ready to process my premium H1-B. I know that this will happen only after 1-Apr'13 so my questions are:

As I dont have any visa after Feb'13 so how can I join them ?
How soon H1 -B approval can come?
At what date I can start working after H1 approval?
Is it possible that till the time my Extn approval/rejection come suppose somewhere mid of May'13 and my H1 B approval can come that time and simply I can switch to new Visa and company?

when is your L1b I-94 expiring?

Same date with my Visa 12-Feb-2013

In that case unless your L1B extension gets approved you will be out of status from 12-Feb-2013.

Also, is the H1 a fresh H1 or a transfer of an older H1? If it is fresh h1 then start date can only be 01-Oct-2013 or later. In that case, if yoru L1 extension gets approve dyou are good, but if it gets denied you will have to leave US and attend new visa stamping at a US consulate outside US and get new L1/H1 stamped in order to return. If you want to return on H1 the start date can only be 01-Oct-2013 or later.

It would be a new H1 B with new company. So anyhow I have to go back to India if I would get rejected by USICS for L1 extension and can come after 1-Oct-13 with new H1-B. If my L1 extension got approved then it would be good for me.
