L1a to GC process. Not in a manager position in previous 3 years

Hi,

I moved in US with a L1-A visa after working 2 years in the foreign branch of my current employer. While in the US I am now a manager, I was not in a managerial position in the foreign branch.
Is this detrimental to apply for GC? In other words should I switch to H1B first in order to apply for GC? Or can I apply with L1A anyway?
As switching to H1b would be much more time consuming, I would like to see if there is a way to apply from L1A
