L2 Visa status validity

Hi,

I am currently on L1B visa and my spouse is on L2 visa and is working for a company on EAD.The EAD is valid till august 2014. My employer is planning to apply for H1 for me in this year's quota. If I get my H1B visa petition approved by October 2013, will my spouse's L2 and EAD status cease to exist? Or can my spouse continue to work on EAD even though I move onto H1B ?

Your spouse will have to change status to H4 starting Oct 1, if your status changes to H1. Once H4 status is effective, he/she will not be able to use the EAD to work.
