L1 to H1 Conversion ...I'm i eligible

I'm currently working to a xyz company on L1 Blanket . My visa expiry date 2nd May 2013 and i have a valid I-94 till nov 2014. I'm i eligible to apply for an H1 B visa through another company and change my status in October 2013.

I tried searching the net but was unable to find it we can apply for a H1B on valid 1-94. If yes what problems I may have ?

Another company can file a petition for you in any case. Also, since your current status extends longer than Sep 30, the H1 petition can also include change of status.
