Candian workpermit holder applying for L1B

I am an Indian citizen working in canada on work permit for an MNC, the same company is ready to process L1B for US. Does it benefit any way if I apply from canada and not from India? Will my L1B request would be filed from India and with me being in canada can my visa interview happen in canada?
