Urgent: L1 visa and New H1B visa status

Hi,

I have question. I am on L1. I applied H1 B new through some consulting company.
What do I need to do if my H1 is declined?

1) Do I need to file change of status?
2) Can I continue to remain on L1?
3) If I need to go out of the country, Can I come back again on same L1 visa after few months?

Was H1 applied as COS or Consular Processing? Till when is your L1 visa and I-94 valid?
