L1 to F1 (student visa) conversion.

Hi,

I am on L2 visa here. (L1 dependent visa). I am looking for some kind of cosmetology education. If i get admission to the school, can i complete my 1 year's course on L2 visa if my husband returns to India?
Do i need to convert my L2 visa to F1 visa for taking education and staying here while my husband will be in India?
If yes, can i first convert my visa and then take admission in the school or after getting admission i can apply for visa conversion?
Mainly my confusion is can i stay here on L2 visa and take education when L1 visa holder is not in USA.

Please guide me on the same, it will be great help.

You cannot stay in US on L2 when primary L1 is not there. For a week or so is acceptable but for long periods its not allowed . Advisable to convert to F1.

Thanks a ton for your reply... Could you please tell me how i can convert my visa to F1.
Can i get admission in any school on L2 visa and then will apply for F1 visa and get visa or still i have to show sponcerers etc.
