Fraud Detection Fee - when to pay in Chennai

For Blanket L1 cases, is the fraud detection fee to be paid before the interview at chennai consulate or can be paid after the interview.

I have a colleague's L1 Visa interview at chennai consulate on April 01, 2013 at 8.30 am. Can I pay the demand draft against fraud detection after the interview on the same day.

or should I prepare a demand draft in advance and submit the same at requisite counter and then proceed for my interview along with the receipt.

A bit confused. Tomorrow is good friday with the banks closed and getting a bit scared.

Your friend should carry the Demand Draft with him/her when he/she goes for the L1 interview.

If L1 is approved then one should submit it at the consulate.

Thanks a lot Raghvi. I'll advise my colleague to get his demand draft made in advance on saturday itself, so that if asked at the interview counter, he can show the same.

Just wanted to find out, if he could also get the demand draft made in chennai after his interview and come back to consulate and submit it. Do the Visa officers want to see the demand draft

I dont think the consulate will allow him to leave and re enter with the demand draft, I also believe there are credit card/debit card options to pay inside the consulate itself but advisable to check with the Chennai consulate about that. I am wondering why your friend needs to get the DD isnt the company having a travel desk or something which does this?
