  • Convert L1 to L2 when the dependent L1 is expired but with valid I-94

    Hi,
My Spouse and I are our own L1 visas from different company. Her L1 Visa is expired in Feb'12 however have a valid I-94 till Mar-2015. Now the sitation is my project is about to complete and my company is asking me to return to India. Is it possible for me to apply for L2 dependent visa in my spouse depending on her valid I-94. Will it be feasible? What are the best options for me to stay in US without traveling back to India?

    Regards,
    Siva

Yes you can. You would have to resign from your current employe and apply for COS L2 before your last working day, you can also simultaneously apply for L2 EAD in order to be able to work with some other employer.

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Thanks for the response. What are the supporting documents I would need to transfer to L2?
