L2 visa and applying for EAD

Hi,
I hold a Indian passport and will be travelling to US with L2 visa, my Husband will be on L1. I will be in US for a preview trip from the company for 3 weeks before returning to Singapore (that's where I live currently with my family) to wind up in about 3 weeks. I am currently working in singapore and would not like to resign until I finally wind up.

Question is:
1. Can I file for EAD while in US for the preview trip?
2. Is it acceptable to provide the service apartment as the address in the EAD form?
3. Is the SSN number absolutely necessary to apply for the EAD?
4. Is there a delay when applied online vs by mail in the processing of EAD?
