  • My I94 Expires before my Visa Expires

Last Year June 2012, I had converted my Visa L1B - L1A and I travelled to India in July 2012 for vacation and got my Visa stamped until March 07 2014 . When I travelled back to US after my vacation in August 2012 , My I94 was issued until my Passport Expiry date of Sep-19-2013 which is 6 months less than my Visa expiry date . Now I got my passport renewed until 2022. My employer has suggested to approach local CBP officer or go to any of the US Territories and reentry with new I-94 issued or to apply for Visa extended .

I had approched CBP helpdesk and they confirmed that they cannot extend my stay as it is not a correction . Now how to extend my I-94 apart from going to any of the US Territories and reentry with new I-94 issued or to apply for Visa extended ?

Travelling out and re-entering US territory may be a better bet than visa extension application... based on some known instances.
This is my opinion and not legal advice...

You need to go outside of U.S. or territories and come back in (Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, etc.). When you come back, you will get a new I-94 for full validity. If you go to U.S. territory, it’s like you never left U.S. so you will not get a new I-94 card. In the alternative, you can file for an L-1A extension. You’re going to have to do it in six months anyway, right?
