My L1-B got approved on 2nd Jul 13 with only Good morning, how are you & thanks from both VO & me. No questions asked. VO got needed documents – started stamping on the papers, after 1minute “VISA has been approved” word came from VO – Great feeling!
I am not sure whether its pre-decided or not – but when VO called me I went with confident and very BIG smile on my face – game changer? Not sure though. Aside I am from well-known US based MNC.

Smile with eye contact even if VO looking elsewhere
Confident in the answers

Smart and confident got through
Calm and composed with smile
Should not over prepared
Rehearsals as needed
Make VO to believe – what you have acquired is infact specialized knowledge, this is knowledge is not available in the open market and gives the company a competitive advantage among its competetitors, it would cause the company signifant economic harm (spending of time and economic resources) to impart this knowledge to another hired from outside.
Precise as possible in the answers and only elaborate when asked to – any extra info/unnecessary invite trouble.
Software development/testing will not fall in special category. Stress on the domain knowledge acquired through proprietary tools, SMEs and product owners.
Structure basic points onto mind for specialized question
Naver **** an accent
Crip answers in one line & All answers should not exceed 3 lines but there are exception to exceed, not answer more than expected.
Interview is not over until VO tells about it.
Flip side:
People who dressed up smart and spoke like dump got rejected
From internet:
To qualify as a specialized knowledge transferee, the employee must meet the following requirements:
• Possess knowledge of the company product and its application in international markets; or
• An advanced level of knowledge of processes and procedures of the company
An employee has specialized knowledge if the knowledge is different from that generally found in the particular industry. Possible characteristics of an employee who possesses specialized knowledge include knowledge that is valuable to the employer's competitiveness in the market place; knowledge of foreign operating conditions as a result of special knowledge not generally found in the industry; has worked abroad in a capacity involving significant assignments which have enhanced the employer's productivity, competitiveness, image or financial position; possesses knowledge which normally can be gained only through prior experience with that employer; or possesses knowledge of a product or process which cannot be easily transferred or taught to another individual. A lengthy discussion by the Administrative Appeals Office about L-1B requirements can be found in a decision from August 2007 known only by its file number, LIN 06 003 52015.[9]
