Can L2 visa holder travel in and out of US if L1 visa holders validity is expired

Hello!!!

May I know if my wife can travel to India and then come back to US again. She is on L2 dependent visa valid until Jan-2018 and would be travelling to India on November-2013. She will come back to US probably by 1st week of December-2013.

My L1 visa will expire on 8th Aug 2013, but my I-94 is valid till Jan-2016.

Is this ok for her to travel, will it cause any issues since my L1 Visa will be expired by that time though she has a valid visa?

remember she should not do it after your I-94 expiry even if she has a valid L2. Also, its not advisable that primary visa holder stays outside US for long period of time while dependents continue to stay in US.

In this case I am the primary visa holder (L1). I will be staying here probably until my I-94 validity date (Jan 2016). That means the primary visa holder (which is me) will not be outside of US. Although I understood your point and have taken a note of the same.
