Can someone please advise the process to apply for L2 EAD?

- What are the documents neeeded.
- Should it be applied through an attorney or can it be self-filed. If anyone has applied through attorney, please advise.
- Can SSN be applied before applying for L2 EAD?

- Should it be applied through an attorney or can it be self-filed. If anyone has applied through attorney, please advise. -- Your choice
- Can SSN be applied before applying for L2 EAD? -- Yes

The form is I-765. You must read the instructions carefully to make sure you make the right selection for the type of EAD card you are selecting.
You need to submit the copy of the L-2 visa or approval notice, along with the L-1 visa or approval notice and a copy of the marriage certificate.
You cannot apply for SSN or start working until you get your EAD card.

I dont have an idea about first 2 questions, I have my wife's L2 Visa which is expiring in March 2014, so i dint risk applying for EAD. I had already got her SSN. You dont need an EAD to get SSN.
