L Visa and Temporary Rolling Lay Off

My company has announced Temporary Rolling Lay Off for all employees in the last quarter of 2013 - They want all employees to pick 2 weeks and not work for that two weeks and you will not get your pay for that two weeks. I am on L1A visa. My company's legal department is saying that it will not affect my Visa status or my GC process later on. I do know that when you get laid-off permanently, all non-immigrant visas including L1A immediately go out of status. Never heard of temporary rolling lay-off until now. Are they correct in that I will not go out of status? Can anyone please help or provide more help or resource location?

HR says it's okay

My company HR says it okay to take temporary layoff on L1A, I wanted to confirm if they are looking at all aspect of this situation before making this statement and this will not come and bite me later in my GC process.Can somebody please help.
