Today i've appeared L1A Visa interview along with my Spouse and 2 kids (5yrs and 2yrs old)and it was rejected saying its not clearly approvable as L1A is mainly for high profile managers. I've total of 12 yrs of exp and managing teams since last 5.5yrs.
She asked following questions:
1)What is my designation.
Associate Manager
2)which client.
3)what would be my designation for the client. (I told Computer and Information Systems Manager)
4)how long i have been with company
3.5yrs
5)what is India salary
6)what would be US salary
7)what would be my role in US (i started saying I'm managing a testing project and responsible for releasing test plan, monitor and control of execution. she stopped here and asked the following questions)
7)how many direct reportees in US ( I told 4)
8)how many indirect reportees in US ( I told 1)
After this she was typing on the computer for few minutes and told me that my Visa is not clearly approvable as L1A is for high profile managers and my role is mostly like individual contributor. she asked me to talk to HR to file in the right category.
What went wrong? infront of me there was a guy with his family on L1B and she was very friendly to them from the begining and he his visa was approved. but she was not friendly to me or family at all and didnt even wish us properly. what could be the reason. was interview pre-fixed? can she see the result on her computer as soon as we are called in by the token? can you help find the reasons , so that it will help me next time.
