  • L2 B spouse visa question

    Hi,

I am currently in US on L1B Visa. I will be getting married in Dec this year (in india) and planning to get my wife with me. My question is:

    a. Due to limit amout of my stay in india, can i apply for my spouse interview before getting married? But I will ensure that I've certificate during my interview date. This is to ensure that i get the slot and she can come with me.

    b. secondly, ideally l2b dependant can work but by reading some comments i'm not sure what should be the answer..if they ask if she is going to work or no? To be honest we havn't thought on that now.

    thanks,

Yes, your wife can book the appointment before your wedding, but the interview must happen after the wedding.

She is allowed to work, but she needs to apply for EAD using I-765. After getting the EAD she can work in any position/job.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Can you answer to my second question please? During interview if we get question like "will she be working or intending to" what should be the answer? Should it be yes or No?

How can anyone in a public forum answer this question for you? If your spouse wants to work say YES if not say NO.
