I do not know about Sales, but i have heard of cases where people in Marketing in Technology Companies were on Specialised knowledge visa (H1B). I do not know, but personally feel, if the product is technical enough, one could try for Sales. E.g.: Selling a Boeing Aircraft. There will be a lot of technical knowledge required to explain.

These are my personal thoughts. I do not know if this will work.
