  • L1A visa stamping with approved petition from USCIS, are there chances of rejection?

I am in the US since Aug 2012, I got my L1A visa petition approved for extension in Nov 2012 and the petition is valid till Oct 2014. I wanted to travel to India for a family event. I wanted to know what the % of chances are for the visa getting rejected during the interview? Does a valid or approved petition (I797 Notice of action) play any role in the decision making?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
    Hello, Mathewrond.

I797 is the first step for visa. While an approved I797 is definitely a plus, i have known cases where, on approved I797, a 221G was issued and then the case went in a limbo. The lesson, there are no predictable outcomes of an visa interview.

What we can do is, prepare our best with the paperwork.

Hope this helps. Wish you luck.

    Cheers,

    Wishing you luck.

Thank you for the response, on a similar note, can I my wife attend the L2 interview with me being in the US? Does she have any issues getting the visa?
