Suggest better option for my travel to USA - L1b or H1b

I have L1b visa valid till 21st Dec 2013 , And recently my H1 petition applied by YYYY company is approved and yet to go for visa stamping.

My current company is asking me to travel on L1b and they will apply for extension.

My question is : First I will travel on L1b and later can I apply for H1b visa from USA ? is there any way to do this..

Hello, Suresh.

Yes. You could enter on L1B and later on do a Change of Status to H1B. If approved, you are good to continue in USA on H1B from L1.
