Can I apply for new VISA and change my job?

Hi,
I am on L1B working in US. It is going to expire in Nov 2013. As I can't change employer under current category can some other employer sponsor me for some other VISA category and hire me? If yes which are the applicable VISA type?
I have a I94 of date Feb 2016.

You can try moving to H1. If you never had an H1 in past 6 Years then you have to wait till April 2014 to apply for one and if approved, can move on to that h1 and work for the employer who filed for your H1 in Oct 2014.

This of course may change if you decide to leave US between now and Oct 2014.

Is there any other way instead of waiting for one more long year and change my job now. I mean can I go for L1 individual or student visa? I don't know whether I can work in student VISA?
